Launch of 'The 10K Record' in H&H Ennis

 

Join us in H&H ENNIS on May the 5th as Christopher Healy, native of Kilmaley, Co. Clare and record breaking scuba diver, launches his inspirational new book 'The 10K Record'.

 

In March 2010 Christopher and his wife were given the devastating news that their only child, Stephen, had Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  One of Stephens regular visitors during his hospital stays was Christopher’s cousin, Jonathan Mangan. An active volunteer with the Share a Dream Foundation, who make dreams come true for sick children all over Ireland.

 

Stephen received so much support from the charity that it wasn’t long before the family wanted to give something back...but how? 

 

Christopher, who is a vastly experienced diving instructor and the owner of Atlantic diving school came up with the unique idea of attempting a World Record 10 km dive in order to raise money for the foundation.  In March 2011 Christopher began training for the World Record with amazing focus.  Combined with the help and support of trusted friends and professionals he mapped out his targets and worked towards them. In 'The 10K Record' you will read the highs and lows of Christopher’s journey in his quest to set a New Guinness World Record, the disapppointments and physical trials of the first failed attempt and the jubilation of success.  

 

'The 10K Record' is a fascinating account of the dive with contributions and accounts from other team members and photos of the attempts.  You will be amazed by the outstanding physical achievement detailed here and uplifted by this very human story's happy ending.
